Human Personal Development

By A.j Clements

What Is Personal Development?

You've probably heard of self improvement
and you've most definitely heard of self help,
but is personal development just the same thing
repackaged and "tweeked" to appear more honest.

The answers is yes and no.

A Second Life

Personal Development is definitely
self improvement, but the main point
is the focus has shifted from the
self help guru who was touting easy answers
and feel good half truths, to honest answers
and personal responsibility based around
hard work - Yes - Any decent, honest program
will not only advocate hard work, they will
insist it is the mother of necessity
(no mixed metaphor intended).

Parameters

Some newer personal development movements
such as The Solution Website have moved beyond
the basic improvements to place emphasis on all
4 of the fundamental human development parameters.

The 4 basic development parameters are Intelligence,
Wealth, Happiness and Health. These are goals that
can be met individually or collectively, though
some firmly believe that attempting developments
in all four areas at once can have a positive,
synergistic effect on each other, creating further
increases to make the practitioner smarter,
wealthier, happier and healthier.

Easy Answers

Simply put - There ain't any!

The hard answers that not everybody will want to
hear are often the most important. Positive thinking
will get you positivity, but there are plenty of
positively poor people.

Effort is the crux of development.

Intelligence is a gift, but it can also be earned.

Wealth is obtainable for everyone prepared to work and sacrifice.

Happiness comes from success, love and positivity - All
of which require substantial input.

Health is the result of good, disciplined decisions
and personal effort.

Why Bother?

Well, the why bother attitude sums it all up.

Those who don't - Don't achieve and those who
achieve nothing live with constant regret.

People who make honest attempts at any area of
development gain respect, integrity and very
often success.

Those who bother win and those who don't - Well
they don't even deserve a mention.

Can You Really Change?

That's a good question - Can you?

If you don't want to become smarter, wealthier,
happier or healthier, then fine, but others will
and they will excel and soar while you DON'T.

There are many things in life like shyness and
self confidence that can be overcome with the
right no-nonsense advice and effort. Overcoming
our weaknesses can only make us stronger - Right?

Everyone can really change, but no one can change
someone else. It's PERSONAL development.
