How To Dress For Success
By Aj James
You Look How You Feel If you've ever judged someone by the way that they dress then stop for a minute and think about that? What must people think of you in the apparel that you wear to work? It's an interesting line of questioning considering that the projection of ourselves in the clothing we wear my be more important than some of us care to credit. If you don't actually dress exactly how you feel then perhaps you may want to consider the nature of first impressions and lasting memories. Beat The Rest There are many ways to get ahead of the pack - Work hard, be efficient and show aptitude, but clean and suitable attire can nit hurt your cause. There's a pretty obvious difference between dressing for success and dressing to kill, but lets make a few tiny observations. 1. You want to be tidy, clean and professional. 2. That said, you don't want to stick out too much - Fit in, but stand out. 3. If you go to the extreme you'll just end up looking ridiculous. After all is said and done you can add the little extras as you please but the basic premise is to be "sharp", but not overboard - A bit of common sense will do wonders here. The Whole Package It's not just about clothes - Not at all, theres the little matter of grooming and hygiene which are equally important and let's not forget that there is more to all the material apparels. The way you conduct yourself and the smile you "wear" are huge facets in the package that says "Success". Don't underestimate the importance of dressing for success as a way to further your own advancement, be it in the company you're in or for your own personal ventures. Tidy and snappy dressers convey a certain something, while sloths emit a certain something else, it's a pretty simple decision which side leads to success and which does not. |
