Man is getting smarter.
But with the increases in IQ (3 points per decade), as well as the increase in technological aptitude, we need to learn a way to filter out the crap.
You see, for every person, there is a commercial, advertisement or endorsement designed to literally fool us into submission. Lies, lies and more lies. All to sell you some stuff.
There is also the dark and shady world of politics and "spin" designed to tap your emotions and "suck" you in. If that wasn't enough there's religion, spam, scams and used car salesmen.
Fortunately, Critical Thinking can help you develop a filter that can't be penetrated (but oh how they'll try), to see through the lies.
Critical thinking is a way to approach a topic with your emotional bias and subjectivity removed. This critical evaluation process means you can't be swayed be emotional triggers and sugar coated lies.
Critical thinking also comes in very useful for intellectual purposes such as critical analysis and information evaluation.
I truly believe that in the not too distant future, everyone will be adherent to the paradigm of critical analysis, not only that, those who don't will be left behind.
Once you get over the initial stages of learning, it becomes ingrained and simpler to use in a natural fashion.
The future of cerebral evolution lies in mankind's ability to accurately perceive the world correctly. It's well worth trying to see what the fuss is about. |
